I created the Louise Parker Method for people like me. I’m not an ex-athlete or dancer; my journey into fitness began with the same impulse shared by many of my clients — I simply didn’t feel how I wanted to and was horribly uncomfortable in my own skin. At first, I looked to fad diets and quick-fix solutions that promised incredible results. But rather than finding success, I threw myself into a vicious cycle of deprivation and guilt — a tedious rollercoaster that drained my energy and sapped my remaining confidence.
Despite not being a gym bunny, I started to work out, change my eating patterns and shift my habits. I realised that by focusing on the habit change and creating the lifestyle I truly craved, that the results happened as the most wonderful consequence. There were lots of bumps along the way and it took me a good few years to truly unpick the formula. But that initial experience was enough, I enrolled on a personal training course and it was there that I found my calling.
I approach my clients not as hardcore gym bunnies, but as normal people with the same hang-ups and bad experiences of dieting that I had. I think this helps me to understand my clients’ struggles and frustrations. I dedicated my time to finding solutions to the never-ending merry-go-round of weight loss — the trend diets, the unforgiving fitness regimes and the constant cycling of denial, self-doubt and failure. I produced a new method that was premised on the simple idea that weight loss should be nurturing, not punishing, and crucially, that the results you achieve last.
Over the past 20 years, I have continued to learn, research, test and improve my system. Today, my team and I have helped over 18,000 people in more than 48 countries to complete the Louise Parker Method. And we continue to refine the method to ensure we incorporate the latest research at the earliest opportunity.
The beauty of the method is that it combines a blueprint that has been refined over the years with a high level of personalisation to make the plan fit any lifestyle. My fabulous team of dietitians and trainers provide the most incredible level of support for clients day in day out and obsess about the fine details of every plan so that you don’t have to.
I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I took the decision early on as LP grew, that I only wanted the highest level of expert support for clients. It’s why we obsess about only recruiting medically trained and registered dietitians, why we invest relentlessly in their professional development and why we continually update our approach to incorporate the latest research.
I too benefit everyday from the lifestyle changes and healthy habits that my method establishes. With a young family and growing business, my life is busy and I don’t have any more time to dedicate to meal prep or gruelling workouts than you do. In fact, I couldn’t think of anything worse than either of these. My method means, I no longer deny myself the food I like or feel guilty for not training everyday, but I also don’t dread getting into a bikini, as I did before. I have learnt to live my best life and I want you to experience the same.
