When I first picked up Louise’s book I had been on and off various diets since I was about 16. The gorgeous food and exercise in the Louise Parker Method seemed imminently do-able but what really rang true for me was the idea that this was not something to be done once, but to be weaved into the fabric of my daily life. I find Louise has a way with words that is really captivating, so that just thinking the words ‘Vitality Smoothie’ would make me feel energised and positive about making myself a lovely snack.
By Christmas of that year I had done my first ‘Transform’ and dropped a dress size. But while the new clothes were lovely, what was truly fabulous was my change in perspective. Sure, I had enjoyed plenty of worth-its over the holidays and as a result I was the left with a little extra padding but I didn’t have the usual crushing New Year panic thoughts of ‘how am I going to lose this weight?’ I just happily and easily stepped back into my new lifestyle. I found I had really weaved beautiful eating and movement into my daily routine and was now the sort of person who got annoyed if the rain meant we couldn’t do the school run on foot. Within a week or so my jeans slid on just as easily as before.
I decided to do another six week transform, this time with the help of the wonderful and very lovely Lydia at the Walton Street clinic. It was incredible what I could do with the extra coaching, motivation and accountability she provided. We could really focus on the areas that I struggled with and address them together. I found it difficult to visualise success but Lydia taught me that people process information differently and the positive affirmations she helped to write were a real game changer. By the end of another six weeks I was delighted to see a big drop in body fat percentage with not one ounce of muscle mass lost. I couldn’t recommend the Method and the whole team at Louise Parker enough.
